Update: I recently came close to selling the frame. It was listed on Ebay for a month and actually got a lowball offer that was close to tempting, but less cash than I ultimately wanted to part with this frame. I just haven't seen this marque very often, so I decided to take it off the market again. Lucky me, a few weeks of self isolation gave me some ideas on what to change. Was tired of the VO bars and decided to shift back to some drops. Love the yellow bar tape to compliment the decal color.
I picked up a Grandis frame off the bike forum. Dont know much about this brand, but it appears to be really nice construction. It was an impulse buy. Had the Flu and needed a pick-me-up. Raided the parts from the Rossin single speed build just for something to do on a rainy cold February weekend.
But that quickly changed. The second build is now outfitted with a vintage Promax seatpost, 3T quill stem (pantographed Anza, not sure what that means), Velo Orange Milan bars,Campagnolo Athena brakes, 980 rear derailleur, Chorus front derailleur, a Brooks B17 saddle and a Sugino VP crank. The wheelset came off one of the Masi and are Mavic MA40 rims laced to Mavic hubs.
It's a daily rider so the setup is pretty relaxed with the Milan bars.
The first build was outfitted with a vintage Promax seatpost, 3T quill stem (pantographed Anza, not sure what that means), Campagnolo brakes, Velo Orange Milan bars, Brooks B17 narrow saddle, a Sugino VP crank and the old Origin8 track wheelset thats been on just about every old frame Ive owned at one time or another.
Its a 56cm square Columbus SL frame and fork with a nice cast sloping fork crown A few nicks here and there.
It was a pretty clean frame. Love the olive wreath "G" on the headtube and fork crown.
The chrome on the chainstays is a little rough and the decals are still intact and in good shape. The arched brake bridge is an interesting detail.
Found a Campagnolo headset at the local co-op for $5 to start the build. Cant beat that!
