1985 Ciocc Designer

I was able to find a 56cm Ciocc Designer Columbus SL(?) frame (like the pink one) to replace the larger Mockba '80, which I dearly cherished but couldn't ride comfortably. This beauty has a superbly deep and rich Joe Bell paint job. I moved the Campagnolo Super Record groupset from the Mockba '80 to this frame. Couple that with a vintage Brooks Professional and it was worth all the effort! It may very well be the crown jewel of my vintage builds.

2006 Serotta Custom Ti

UPDATE: Again, its been a few years sine I photographed this frame. its currently built with a 3T (stem, bars, seatpost) Brooks Professional Saddle and the Mavic Kysrium SSC wheelset.  The last incarnation: recently rebuilt with a 10 speed Campagnolo Veloce group, Proton wheelset, 3T Dorico seatpost and Ergosum Pro bars, with the Brooks B17 Narrow saddle on top. I shortened the steerer tube by by 2" as well. Fits nicely and rides fast. One short lived build prior... Ive broken the "Italian-only" rule for my collection and added this titanium frame, US made, bike to the stable. At least the name sounds italian. Found it on Craigslist in Asheville for $800+ fork and headset and a pair of Shimano brakes I can't use. I had been curious whether all the hype around titanium ride quality was warranted. Well, it is! I built it up today from new and old parts off nearly every bike I have. The build is, as it stands today: 56CM Serotta Custo

1996 De Rosa Giro d'Italia

Update: Added a 3T stem, Campagnolo Carbon Chorus rear derailleur and Neutron rear wheel.  The build: 56cm Derosa Giro d'Italia Columbus EL frame, with serial number HB016 Campagnolo Chorus Carbon groupset Campagnolo neutron rear and electron front wheel Vittoria Open Corsa Evo SC tires 3T carbon ergonova bars Chris King 1" Nothreadset Time Club Carbon fork Brooks Professional saddle Picked this 56cm frame up recently off of eBay and sold the purple Primato. As much as I hate to see it go it was just too large. I've built this up with the parts from the Masi and added a carbon fork and Cane Creek Forty headset. It rides great and despite some mechanical difficulties on the first voyage it's peddling smoothy now.

2002 Bianchi XL Boron

Many changes since the original post but here is the current build: Bianchi XL Boron 56cm steel frame, with serial number 116B1328  Cane Creek Forty threadless headset Kestrel EMS Pro carbon fork FSA OS-99 stem  FSA Wing Pro compact bars FSA KForce Compact Carbon Crankset Campagnolo Veloce 10 speed shifters Campagnolo Record brakes Campagnolo Record front and rear derailleurs Campagnolo Proton Wheels Vittoria Open Corsa CX  23c tires Thomson Elite seatpost Brooks Cambium C17 I picked up a new frame this passed week from West Roxbury, MA on ebay. Built it up over the last couple days and took it on its maiden voyage this weekend. Decided to retire the 2008 Bianchi Via Nirone frame for this steel celeste beauty. Its a 2002 Bianchi XL Boron. Boron Steel is evidently a proprietary Dedacciai EOM 16.5 tubeset made for Bianchi. It weighs in at 18 lbs, which for a steel frame bike sounds pretty good. It's basically the same setup as my 08 except for
