1984 Tommasini Super Prestige 'Los Angeles Olympic'

Yet Another Update: So I finally emailed the current importer to see if they could tell me anything about the frame. They kindly referred me to Tommasini in Italy who I emailed. After a surprisingly fast response from Barbara, she informed me that the frame was made between 1983-1986 exclusively for the US market and distributed by Lewis William Imports in Texas. If I were to draw a more likely conclusion to its exact provenance, is that it was crafted in 1984 for the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. Probably a Team USA tribute of sorts and it resembles the same style as the team jersey. Either way good to know more about it. Its currently built with the 9 speed Campagnolo Chorus group and Campagnolo Proton wheelset. Its finally settled! 2008 Pegoretti Marcelo

UPDATE: I landed a Campagnolo Record 11 speed group from the same guy who sold me the Chorus groupset that's on the De Rosa. Took it out for a 30 miler to test it out. Great shifting! With the 12-29 cassette and a compact 50t front, the 11 speeds make shifting down to the small chainring rather unecessary except for the steepest of hills. The new style of hoods took some getting used to, but the resulting ride was comfortable.  I was able to land this 2008 Pegoretti Marcelo frame, with serial number 108, and a Reynolds carbon fork off ebay. Ok, pinch me, it's been a dream bike for me for a while and even more so since I saw him and his frames at NAHBS in CLT a few years back. It feels especially rewarding after the fake "Gios" incident. Wasn't sure I'd ever be able to afford one.  Its a 56cm Columbus Spirit TIG welded steel frame with the Baci paint scheme by Dario Pegoretti. I own some great frames from the masters like Ernesto Colnago, Fa
